St. John Bosco at Denbigh 2026

From July 31 to August 2, St. John Bosco (SJB) Vocational Training Centre attended the 72nd staging of the Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show in the rural parish of Clarendon. The event was held under the theme ‘Growing Forward: cultivating a path to a better Jamaica’ and focused on the ongoing evolution of the island’s agricultural sector while acknowledging its setbacks such as severe natural disasters (E.g. Hurricane Melissa in 2025). The three-day event was packed with a diverse range of activities and attractions such as a farmers’ market, livestock area, a health and wellness village, training sessions, the National Farm Queen Competition, rides, games and nightly entertainment.

St. John Bosco set up a booth at the event where they showcased their prime cuts of meat from the Bosco Meats Shop (i.e. the on-campus butcher shop) as well as produce grown from the school’s arable farm. Attendees were able to sample the food on display and speak with representatives from St. John Bosco about the school’s training programmes and on-campus social enterprises. The event increased SJB’s visibility in the public arena while introducing potential customers to SJB’s butchery and farming businesses. A wonderful time was had by all and the team at SJB looks forward to returning next year!
